Corrective Exercise/Rehab

The main focus of corrective exercises are to improve areas of “functional weakness” in our body. Often times we don’t lack strength necessarily, but we struggle with specific movements or specific tasks. These exercises are meant to correct your mechanics and movement patterns to help you move efficiently and reduce your risk of re-injury.

What is the purpose of Corrective Exercise/Rehab?

Rehab is just a stepping stone to get you back to your normal exercise routine/daily activities. They are to help “build you back up” so that you are ready to return to whatever sport/activity when you have completed your care plan.

Often times, we will work with you and your coaches/trainers to help you get back to activity as soon as safely possible. We will even modify your plan to keep you exercising other parts of your body as we work through your problem area. “Icing and Resting” is for freshly sprained ankles and traumatic injuries, not for chronic back pain.

Dr. Colton Korne does much more than adjustments. He worked with me on core strengthening exercises to help with my lower back problems. One year ago I could not walk without a cane. Now, each morning I walk my dog 1-2 miles. And the last two days I did my walk without any help from my walking stick. I highly recommend Dr. Colton to anyone with severe back problems.
